Video: Black Russians: The Red Experience (Kickstarter Trailer)
This is a surprising twist in history - the story of black Americans who left the USA in the 1920s and 30s for the most unlikely of places, Stalin’s USSR. They left racism and segregation behind in their homeland seeking a better life in a new country – Communist Russia. Their descendants now living in Russia and America tell their story.
To what extent did those travelers find what they were looking for? It shows how people facing the unknown, driven by their dreams can make difficult choices and challenge reality. It has a relevance to what the world experiences today.

Video: Black Russians: The Red Experience (August 2014 Trailer)
'Black Russians – The Red Experience' is the untold story of black American professionals who left their segregated homeland for Stalinist Russia in the 1930s. Escaping racism in America, they came to the newly built country, Soviet Union, seeing it as the ‘Promised Land.’ Some came for political reasons, others for economic benefit, equality of status or artistic freedom. Some remained in the USSR, while others married Russian citizens, And some eventually returned to the US. But all of them had one thing in common -- their search for a dream.
Did they find what they were looking for? Their descendants who live in Russia and America today will share a story of their ancestors as well as their own.
Today Russia is the country where racism is increasing and America still struggles with the same issue. The world has been stirred up with many other problems. But nothing can stop people worldwide to take to the streets and fight for their beliefs. Thus black Americans’ experiences in the 1930s now largely forgotten, led into the civil rights movement in the USA that finally abolished segregation.
“Black Russians – The Red Experience” is the story of the dreamers who believed in a better world. This story resonates with the all-embracing words of Martin Luther King "I have a dream..." that have relevance in today's world.

Video: Russia warns EU against controlling Africa - Press TV
The foreign affairs minister of Russia, Lavrof is in Africa to seek closer economic and political ties with the continent. His visit is timely since Russia is currently suffering from sanctions applied by the European Union and the US following its involvement in Ukraine.
Russia’s intends to expand its economic ties with Africa while its economy is now affected by the ongoing sanctions. Moscow has signed a mining deal with Zimbabwe, a country that openly opposes the western powers. It is now looking to develop nuclear energy projects with countries like Angola and South Africa. While meeting the chairperson of the African Union Russia warned the European Union against meddling in Africa’s affairs. Russia is openly de-campaigning the imposers of its sanctions in Africa. It has disclosed that during the Libyan crisis while it supported AU’s idea of having political dialogue, the other western countries supported the NATO bombing of Libya that ended Muamar Ghaddafi’s 41 year reign and led to a civil war. Some analysts feel that welcoming Russia now might jeopardize Africa’s relationship with the European Union. The European Union is the chief funder of the African union commission, peace operations in Africa as well as Africa’s biggest trading partner. Before now, Russia has had minimum involvement in Africa.

Video: Rick Rozoff - NATO, Ukraine and U.S. imperialism
Rick Rozoff, internationally recognized critic of NATO, spoke on April 12, 2014 at a Chicago teach-in titled "Stop U.S./NATO's New Cold War Over Ukraine."
He described the geo-political background to the current crisis resulting from the recent right-wing coup of the Kiev government in Ukraine and U.S./NATO saber-rattling. The key to understanding the present situation is to look at the historically aggressive objectives of NATO.
"The Ukrainian crisis is simply the pretext for the U.S. and its NATO allies of moving more military equipment up to the Russian border...to besiege (it). And there's only one reason you besiege a country -- either to starve it out or to attack it. And nothing less severe is at stake right now."
Rozoff also noted the presence of the warship USS Donald Cook in the Black Sea -- and which has as of this writing been reported on corporate media, with cued vexation, as having been buzzed by a Russian fighter jet. "It's the third guided missile warship from the United States to go into the Black Sea since the crisis in the Ukraine. There is a convention in 1936 called the Montreux Convention that expressly prohibits war ships of a certain size or larger to go into the Black Sea or to stay there over a limited period of time. The U.S. is in clear violation of that Convention and Russian political figures have notified them of that."
"There is no way of exaggerating the severity of what we're facing right now." Rozoff warns. "I applaud everyone's efforts in building an anti-war movement. It has never been more necessary than it is right now."
This video of Rozoff's talk is enhanced with images assembled in a PowerPoint created by Sara Flounders (International Action Center/NY), plus additional photos and footage.
Video: Stealing Popcorn (2009 Documentary)
“Stealing Popcorn” started when director Brett Allen came across a list of the 10 Most Corrupt leaders in the world. What fascinated him was that Number 8 on that list Pavlo Lazarenko a former Ukrainian Prime Minister was at that time being tried in San Fransisco court room on allegations of corruption, embezzlement of funds and money laundering. He was the first former foreign official who was prosecuted in US court. Brett started digging deeper and came across a whole web of corruption involving top Ukrainian officials in power even now. He asked himself a question: Why the new emerging capitalist societies which appeared on the post-Soviet platform acquired the worst characteristics the contemporary capitalism has to offer: social egoism and corruption of the ruling elite? Being inspired by Michael Moore’s “Capitalism. A Love story” and the investigative urge he decided to explore the part of the world a lot of us Americans don’t even know where it is on the map.
The documentary team came across a lot of facts, documents and opinions related to the case, ultimately it all came down to presenting those in a clear understandable narrative people would be able to follow. As Don, one of the interviewees says: “people are sheep”. They are fed “popcorn” every single day of their lives, by politicians, transnational corporations, big businesses, entertainment industry, marketing and advertising. The movie didn’t attempt to change the world as it is,it just wanted to present a “cool” image of what happens to the naïve sheep.
So why do we still follow the bad leaders, why do we eat that political popcorn?
This documentary is just the beginning. The filmmakers have a lot of directions to go from here, and as Brett Allen was saying: “it only just started and I’m hooked”.

Video: Welcome to Nulandistan: Propaganda and the crisis in Ukraine - GRTV
This full length GRTV documentary looks at the fictitious land of Nulandistan that has been constructed out of Ukraine. The GRTV documentary deconstructs Nulandistan and the propaganda of the Obama Administration, the US Department of States, US officials, and their allies about the crisis in Ukraine and takes a look at their growing frustration towards the Russian media, particularly RT, for challenging their account of the events on the ground in what they have declared is an intensifying information war.
The full length documentary starts by looking at the self-benefiting description of the EuroMaidan protests that US officials have used and how it has grossly diverged from reality. Then the Odessa Massacre is deconstructed for audiences.
The documentary then looks at the situation in East Ukraine, including the violence and referenda. The events in East Ukraine are then contrasted to the positions of US officials and Russia.
This documentary shows how the reality of events in Ukraine has been been misappropriated and propagandized to support US foreign policy and to justify tensions against Russia.

Video: Donetsk seeks to form 'National Bank' - Press TV INfocus
P1
A parliament member in the self-proclaimed People's Republic of Donetsk says the parliament is planning to form a National Bank in order to facilitate tax payments.
"The biggest challenge at the moment is to form a National Bank, because without a National Bank, it is very hard to redirect taxes and payments," says Alexander Yevenievich, the minister of transport in the People's Republic of Donetsk.
"I think the winner will be the side that wins the economic war... the most effective way to win is to stop sending money to Kiev," says Yevenievich, adding that "If Kiev stops receiving money from us, it will fall apart."
The two mainly Russian-speaking regions of Donetsk and Lugansk in Ukraine have been the scene of deadly clashes between pro-Russia protesters and the Ukrainian army since mid-April. The violence intensified after the two regions declared independence from Ukraine on May 12 following local referendums, in which the residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of independence from Ukraine.

Video: The Great Challenge: China, Russia - Press TV
After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1990, the US became the world's superpower. The US, then tried to contain its future rivals, that is Russia and China. With this aim, the US proposed the project of "the greater middle-east". The US occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq and its presence in the middle-east was not for fighting terrorism or establishing democracy but for controlling the the region as the main source of energy. This way, the US wanted to control the world and its rivals in particular. In recent decades, Russia and China have become more and more powerful in the international arena politically, economically and militarily. Now they veto the US just to show that the country is no longer the superpower. And the US knows well that with China and Russia, it will not be able to execute its plan to control the world as easily as it could three decades ago.

Obama prepares to smash BRICS during his last few years in office
The buildup of NATO air and ground forces along the borders of Russia in eastern Europe and President Barack Obama’s American power-influencing trip to Asia have a single purpose. The seen and unseen forces who dictate policy to their political puppets in Washington, London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and other vassal capital cities have decided to smash BRICS -- the emergent financial power bloc encompassing Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
Bilateral and multilateral discussions among the five emerging economic powers aimed at decoupling BRICS economies from the US dollar as a reserve and trading currency have met with the only power Washington can muster on behalf of itself and its foundering allies -- military force. The problems between Ukraine and Russia over Crimea and federalism within Ukraine are a mask designed to cover Obama’s true intentions, which are the smashing of the BRICS as a viable alternative to the neo-colonialist financial systems of the West and subsuming the economies of the BRICS to the whims of the United States and the ever-teetering European Union.
The G-8, which suspended Russia from membership, and the World Trade Organization, of which Russia is now a member, never had a thing to do with free trade and common economic policies. These contrivances, formed in the back rooms by the bankers of the Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group, were always about unipolar domination of the world by a single superpower. Since the end of World War II and the collapse of the once-dominant British Empire, that superpower has been the United States.

Video: Ukraine Crisis - What You're Not Being Told - StormCloudsGathering
The European and American public are being systematically lied to about the Ukraine crisis.
In this video we're going to provide you with compelling evidence that the crimes against humanity committed in Kiev earlier this year were in fact committed by the new coalition government and that officials in the E.U. and the United States knew full well who committed these crimes and that they are protecting and financially supporting the real criminals.

Interview: Security Prof. Mark Galeotti talks Covert ops are thebread & butter of geopolitics on RT
Open Secret (ft NYU global affairs professor Mark Galeotti)
The asymmetrical benefits of covert operations have seen them become the bread and butter of geopolitics. And with sabers rattling in Ukraine, accusations of the use of such tactics are rife. But are those events really part of a sinister master plan or is the fear of covert actions creating an atmosphere of paranoia in an essentially anarchic situation? Oksana is joined by Mark Galeotti, a professor of global affairs at New York University, to pry into these issues.

Video: Cold War 2.0 and the Threat of Nuclear Warfare - GRTV Backgrounder
The rhetoric that has been spewed in recent years about nuclear disarmament is, of course, was always just that: rhetoric. The US government has never seriously considered giving up its nuclear stockpile, or even renouncing a first-use nuclear doctrine.
As Dr. Yuki Tanaka of Hiroshima University explains, the Obama administration has not simply continued the aggressive Bush-era stance on America's nuclear arsenal, but actually extended it.
In reality, the Obama administration has simply reaffirmed and even extended the existing US nuclear policy allowing for a first-strike, offensive nuclear war against its enemies.
