MIAMI --City of Miami Commissioner Michelle Spence-Jones and an international relief organization will travel to Haiti to deliver 50,000 pounds of food and water to hurricane victims throughout the impoverished country.
Spence-Jones and World Vision are scheduled to arrive in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on Friday to deliver the food.
A day earlier, the commissioner joined with players from the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins and University of Miami at a press rally to encourage residents to donate food and water to hurricane victims in Haiti.
The rally raised money and food for the relief trip, dubbed "Operation: Hope for Haiti."
