Video: Haitian protests mark ouster of former president Aristide - RTRuptly

Hundreds of people rallied in the streets of Port-au-Prince to show their support of former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide for the 10th anniversary of his ouster on Thursday.

The protesters denounced what they described as widespread corruption in the government of President Michel Martelly and called for his resignation.

Aristide was president between December 16, 1990 and January 20, 1991, running for the National Front for Change and Democracy party. He was deposed on September 29, 1991 by Commander of the Army, Raoul Cedras, but returned for a second-term in 2001 followed by another coup d'etat in 2004.
