Haitian artist Frandy Jean's Haddon Heights gallery does more than sell art

Frandy Jean sat at a zebra-striped glass table in his small art gallery off Station Avenue on Tuesday.

The Haddon Heights gallery’s white walls accented the colorful artwork on display, a stark contrast from the 25-year-old artist’s throwback Chuck Taylor sneakers and untamed hair.

“My artwork has a message behind it,” Jean said of his acrylic paintings, which often depict scenes from his native Haiti.
