The Dallas Stars on Wednesday signed defenseman Maxime Fortunus to a one-year contract.
Fortunus, 27, had 16 points in 24 games for the Stars' American Hockey League team, the Texas Stars.
His only NHL experience came in 2009-10 with the Stars, when he had a minus-6 rating and four penalty minutes in eight games.
To make room on the roster for Fortunus, the Stars sent defenseman Jamie Oleksiak to the AHL. Oleksiak had a minus-3 rating and five shots on goal in seven games.
