'We Are the World' 25 For Haiti Premieres Tomorrow

LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- Following Friday's world premiere the "We Are the World 25 for Haiti" charity song will be immediately available as a digital download, its producers said.

The song and exclusive footage from the star-studded recording session will be available on the Web site WORLD25.org.

Downloads will also be available on iTunes, and through a partnership with YouTube, the video will be viewable on the "We Are the World 25" YouTube Channel.

Immediate donations will be made possible by clicking on the "Donate Now" button on YouTube or by downloading the song on iTunes.

Quincy Jones, producer, and Lionel Richie, co-writer, of the iconic 1985 philanthropic anthem "We Are the World" gathered a team of contemporary artists to remake the song earlier this month in Los Angeles.

While the 1985 edition of the song earned money for aid to Africa, the new version is intended to raise funds for victims of Haiti's devastating Jan. 12 earthquake.

The world premiere of the video for "We Are the World 25 for Haiti" is to air during NBC's coverage of the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Winter Olympics Friday, the song's producers said.
