Sophia Domeville featured in MadameNoire: Young Black Entrepreneurs & Innovators

Sophia Domeville: Abstract Expressionist Artist, Haitian, born in Newark, NJ, raised in East Orange, NJ.

Sophia Domeville is a studio arts graduate of The College of New Rochelle. Domeville’s passion for giving back to the community spurred her to become VP of Halls That Inspire (HTI), a nonprofit that uses art as a means of encouraging and uplifting youth. This past summer, Domeville was featured as the Lead Teaching Artist for “Art Day Celebration,” a program in Haiti that cultivates and empowers impoverished and underprivileged children. Her work has been exhibited at Columbia University, Dartmouth College, Liberty Theater, Gallerie LaKaye in West Hollywood, and more.

Sophia Domeville: Ever since I could remember I wanted to be the Haitian version of Oprah because she taught me about hard work, drive, spirit, character and giving back to community. I believe my life’s mission, similar to Ms. Winfrey’s, is to have a major impact within various communities as a teaching artist and truly change the world through art.
