Louis Delmas continues to draw serious interest on open market

Louis Delmas' next NFL stop could be a return home.

The former Detroit Lions safety continues to generate serious interest on the free agent market. After meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers shortly after his release last month, he met with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins last week.

According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have not yet offered a contract, but there is mutual interest.

Delmas grew up in Miami. He attended North Miami Beach High School, which is five short miles away from Sun Life Stadium, where the Dolphins play their home games.

It's clear Delmas will have no problem finding work after five years in Detroit. A second-round pick for the Lions in 2009, he appeared in 65 games for the organization, tallying 331 tackles, five sacks and six interceptions.
