Travie McCoy gives update on Solo Album, Gym Class Heroes

It's been four years since Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie Mccoy released a solo album with his debut outing Lazarus. Now, as he gears up for the release of his as-yet-untitled follow-up, the singer/rapper has divulged new info about his upcoming album.

"Anyone knows from the past...that I've always given zero F about catering to one genre or one particular audience," McCoy told Billboard. "I'm influenced by so many different types of music, and this record is no different. It's kind of me still putting my foot in different waters and trying different things. It's never really been, like, a conscious decision to be different or, like, color outside the lines. It's just what I do."

For those "different waters," Mccoy recruited Pharrell, TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek and numerous fledgling producers who have yet to become household names. Despite the appearance of Jason Mraz on "Rough Water," McCoy is keeping guest stars light for the album, focusing on his own work.
