ECHL.com Alumni Profile: Francis Bouillon

It was hard for Francis Bouillon to imagine that things could get any better. The year was 1996, and he was just 20 years old at the time, fresh off of winning the Memorial Cup with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Granby Predateurs.

Regarded as a gritty defenseman with offensive upside at the time, Bouillon was never drafted, despite his point totals climbing steadily with each junior season. But as it turns out, he also put himself on the map during his championship-winning year, and ended up signing a deal to play in the ECHL with the Wheeling Nailers for the 1996-97 season.
