Jean-Bertrand Aristide net worth $800 Million

Jean Bertrand Aristide has an estimated net worth of $800 million. He is a former President of Haiti who served in 1991, 1994-1996, and 2001-2004. He was ousted twice by d’état in 1991 and 2004. From 1991 to 1994, the American government ruled that the years of military government would count as part of his term. This forced him to step down after only two years in service because he was no longer permitted to run for a second consecutive term. His second term was also interrupted by another revolt from the military. He was forced to exile by the American military. René Préval was twice elected as president, in 1996 and 2005, when Aristide could not run for the position.

Before he became a politician, Aristide was a Catholic priest of Salesian order. He started school with the priests of the same order. He attended College Notre Dame and graduated with honors in 1974. He studied philosophy at the Grand Seminaire Notre Dame and psychology at the State University of Haiti. In 1979, he completed his post-graduate studies and traveled in Europe while studying in Italy, Greece and Israel. In 1982, he returned to Haiti for his ordination as a Salesian priest. He was then appointed curate of a small parish in Port-au-Prince. He was responsible in overthrowing the Duvalier family of dictators in 1991 and was chosen as the President to Haiti in the first democratic election.
