Guardian columnist and best-selling American author Glenn Greenwald spoke on "Endless War, Radical Presidential Power, and a Rotted Political Culture" on March 5 at Hampshire College. Greenwald then participated in a roundtable conversation moderated by philosophy and political theory professor Falguni A. Sheth.

A former constitutional lawyer, Greenwald is a columnist on civil liberties and U.S. national security issues for the Guardian. He writes critically and powerfully about the war on terror, the expansion of executive power, and other pressing political issues.

Greenwald's most recent book is With Liberty and Justice for Some: How the Law Is Used to Destroy Equality and Protect the Powerful. Among his other books are How Would a Patriot Act? and A Tragic Legacy.

A former contributing writer to Salon.com and a prizewinning journalist, Greenwald was named by Newsweek as one of the country's Top 10 Opinionists and by The Atlantic as one of the 25 most influential political commentators in the nation.
