Patricia Benoît, a Haitian director, interviewed by Nothing Official talks 'Stones in the Sun'.
The film's title stems from a Haitian proverb:
"Stones in the water don't know the suffering of stones in the sun."
Shot on location in Haiti and New York, according to Benoît, the story tracks the invisible wounds of exile and the interconnections between three pairs of Haitian characters who leave their home country for the United States.
