Jillian Michaels says Lukensia keeps her motivated and healthy

Jillian Michaels doesn’t always want to exercise but her kids inspire her to do more. The fitness guru tells media that Lukensia and Phoenix keep her motivated and on the healthy path.

“I want to be a good role model for my kids and be around for them,” says Michaels. “I love my family and am always looking to improve myself as a mom and a partner.”

Jillian’s career also weighs in on her healthy lifestyle. “With my work I need to lead by example and walk the walk to help show others what’s possible if they put their mind and heart into something,” explains the star. “These days I tend to remind people that they should feel the fear – it’s a natural part of being human – but then do it anyway. Fear is temporary, but regret is forever.”

Although she doesn’t have time to exercise for hours at a time due to being a working mom, Jillian does manage to get a good workout in by choosing activities wisely. “Of course, I don’t have the time to workout that I used to,” says the personal trainer. “The days of 90-minute yoga classes are few and far between, but I still find at least four 30-minute sessions to train weekly. As long as I am smart with my exercise I can maintain my weight with relative ease.”

Jillian Michaels, Heidi Rhoades and their children Lukensia, 3, and Phoenix, 17 months, were spotted at the Malibu farmers market on Sunday (October 20).

The Biggest Loser star wore a Rolling Stones shirt and flat cap while her partner sported a black fedora.

The fitness guru said in her interview with Shape magazine that she’s learning a lot from her children.

“You really get confronted with all of your immaturity and selfishness. It forces you to grow up and to be realistic and to make true sacrifice.”

Besides working on Biggest Loser – she also just released her DVD Jillian Michaels Yoga Inferno.

Fitness trainer Jillian Michaels and Lukensia were seen going to a nail salon in Malibu, Calif. on Saturday (August 24). The 3-year-old wore a purple bow in her hair, jean shorts and striped top for the day out. On August 20 she went to the park with mom and got a piggy back ride.

Jillian- who also raises Phoenix, 1, with her partner Heidi Roades - recently tweeted: “Had to travel 4 work today last minute. I HATE leaving my kids. Does that ever get easier?”

In her interview with Ladies’ Home Journal Michaels said adopting Lukensia was fate.

“I’ve been to Haiti on and off since I was 27. I met her a year ago on a trip visiting orphanages for All Blessings International, an organization I work with. I was visiting this one orphanage and the next thing I knew she jumped into my arms. She just grabbed me and clung to me and I immediately felt something. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is my daughter.’ “

However the baby girl had already been placed with a family in Germany – but it didn’t work out.

Jillian Michaels took her daughter Lukensia to a park in Malibu, California on Tuesday (Aug. 20).

The fitness guru wore a black tank and khakis while giving the 3-year-old a piggy back. Lukensia played on a playset before joining her mom for some sand fun.

Jillian’s partner Heidi Rhoades and their 1-year-old son Phoenix were not present.

Adopting Lukensia from an orphanage in Haiti about 1-year-ago, the new mom describes her daughter’s personality as very shy.

Fitness star and ‘Biggest Loser’ trainer Jillian Michaels and daughter Lukensia, were one happy duo on the red carpet at the opening night for Cavalia’s Odysseo in Burbank, California on Wednesday.

Lukensia wore bright yellow pants, paired with a cool black washed jacket and purple sneakers. Mom Jillian also sported a cool outfit in black skinny pants and a maroon leather jacket.

Michaels adopted Lukensia last year from Haiti.

“I was visiting this one orphanage, and the next thing I knew, she jumped into my arms,” the trainer told Ladies’ Home Journal of her little girl. “She just grabbed me and clung to me and I immediately felt something. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is my daughter.’”

Michaels also has a son with partner Heidi Rhoades who was born last May.

Somehow I missed the memo that Jillian Michaels is into women. After some quick research, I’ve discovered that Jillian has been with her current partner, Heidi Rhoades, for some time. In 2010, she admitted to having dated both men and women, and it sounds like (to quote Bono) she’s found what she’s been looking for. As such, Jillian and Heidi adopted a 2-year-old girl, Lukensia, from Haiti last year, and Heidi gave birth to a baby boy, Phoenix, last year as well. So the two of them became sudden parents to a toddler and a baby at the same time, which sounds difficult as hell. It’s probably hard enough to parent both ages at once, but to not even have a warm-up period with the first kid before the baby comes along? I bet that was a very disorienting experience, and now Jillian admits that it’s exceedingly difficult to fit her entire life into one day, and she’s even softening up her rather militant approach to fitness.
