Video: Anti-Haiti government protest descends into chaos - RT Ruptly
Violent clashes occurred during an anti-government protest in Port-au-Prince on Tuesday. Haitian police shot tear gas into the crowd and some protesters received bullet wounds. Police forces claimed that some protesters had thrown rocks at them. The date of the march coincided with the battle of Vertières, which is credited as an important point in the Haitian road to independence.
Some sources reported that a pro-government deputy may have been responsible for the shooting, as he was present near the march and was seen carrying an assault rifle. The total tally of casualties and injuries could not be confirmed.
