It has been a tough year for Skal Labissiere. After playing just two games for Evangelical Christian School, he went down with an injury. There were numerous trips to the doctor and numerous return dates that were pushed back. Eventually, it was determined that those two games would be all that was of the Haitian’s high school campaign.
“It was tough,” Labissiere said of missing virtually his entire junior season. “I am not trying to rush it and want to let it heal completely.”
The injury that Labissiere was referring to was a stress fracture in his back that he suffered in the winter. Along with foot and knee injuries, any lower body injury is something that you certainly don’t want to rush back from as a young player with the potential that this 6-foot-10 junior has. While it was incredibly difficult sitting out so long, he understood that this precaution was necessary.
“I just started rehab and should be able to play in three to four weeks,” he confidently added. “A stress fracture is nothing to mess around with.”
