Haiti downs USVI to book place in 2013 Caribbean Football Union U-17 semis

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – Batcheba Louis scored 11 goals as host Haiti posted a 22-0 victory over the U.S. Virgin Islands on Sunday in the 2013 Caribbean Football Union Women's Under-17 Tournament finals.

A crowd of 2,000 watched the Group A encounter at the Stade Sylvio Cator, which saw the home side clinch a place in the tournament’s semifinals.

Earlier in the day, Puerto Rico defeated Antigua 5-0 to seal the group’s other berth in the knockout phase. The table toppers will square off on Tuesday to decide the top two places in the table.

Louis opened the scoring in the sixth minute and added four more before the referee blew her whistle to end the half with the score 14-0. Prior to that, though, Isnada Lebrun struck for five of her six goals.

After converting a penalty kick in the 54th minute, Louis remained on the offensive, tallying five more times from the 60th minute through stoppage time.
