Haiti defeats Puerto Rico 1-0 in CONCACAF U15 Championships 2013

The seventh day of the CONCACAF Under 15 Championships took place in the Cayman Islands on Monday [Aug 19], with teams from some 23 member nations — including Bermuda — taking part.

St Kitts & Nevis defeated Curacao in Group C match and in Group D match Haiti defeated Puerto Rico, Martinique defeated Antigua & Barbuda and El Salvador defeated St. Vincent & The Grenadines.

In the match of group C St Kitts & Nevis earned its first points of the tournament with a 4-2 win over Curacao. 5 minutes into the game Geovannie Lake scored for St Kitts & Nevis. 15 minutes later, he added a second goal. Curacao got back into the game starting the second half with a goal by Hesus Pietersz, but that was not enough. 2 minutes later St Kitts & Nevis scored two goals that gave them the three points.

Honduras defeated Guadalupe 2-0. Walter Rodrigues in the 20th minute and, the Man of the Match, Darixon Vuelto in 50th minute gave Honduras the three points and the lead in Group D. With this win Honduras secured a place in the semifinals.

In the first game of Group D at Ed Bush Stadium, Haiti defeated Puerto Rico 1-0. After a goalless first half, the Man of the Match, Tchekvoh-Kevin Amede, scored for Haiti in the 41st minute. With this win, Haiti secured the second place in his group and still has a change to qualify for the next round given that they still have one more game of the group stage.
