Léonel Saint-Preux's Haitian magic to boost Felda FC up the table

HAITIAN Leonel St.Preux may have played just one game since his April move to Felda United, but the Settler’s coach K. Devan is already singing praises of his new forward.

Devan believes the club side can do better than when they had marquee signing Mohammad Ghaddar among their ranks for about three month.
Ghaddar left the club earlier this month due to back injury but it was long speculated he was set to be replaced as he wasn’t a team player.
“He (Leonel) will play an important role as we have to climb up the Super League. He is there when we are defending and also the one to lead out attacks,” said Devan.

“Though he is new, I can see the team improving as we can play more as a unit now. Maybe, in time the other players will know his game better and make us a more formidable force.

“Just like when we had Ghaddar, we need support Leonel too but the difference is that he is a team player. He is there to help his teammates,” he added.
Though the 27-year-old failed to score on his debut against Selangor last week, the Haitian was a constant thorn to the Selangor defence as they were scrambling to stop him – sometimes in numbers.

Apart from his work rate, Leonel displayed glimpses of creativity while his speed gave Selangor problems. He is expected to take the field again tomorrow as the Settler’s host Terengganu at the PJ Stadium.
