2014 MLB Draft prospect Touki Toussaint throws a 97 mph fastball

Touki Toussaint
Junior right-handed pitcher/outfielder, Coral Springs (Fla.) Christian Academy

Greatness Present: Only 16 years old, Toussaint is regarded a raw talent — a scary thought, considering the junior right-hander’s 97 mph fastball and his nearly two strikeouts per inning so far this season.

“He’s got a chin-to-knees curveball,” Coral Springs Christian coach Matt Cleveland told the Miami Herald in a feature on the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game selection. “His changeup reminds me of Pedro Martinez. It moves to the side and down two feet. The movement is unreal.”

Toussaint has started 3-1 on the mound this season for the Crusaders (12-3), recording a 0.61 ERA and 41 strikeouts in 23 innings pitched. He has batted .378 with 16 RBI and 16 runs scored in 45 at-bats through 15 games.
