NFL scouts and media were on hand at McGuirk Stadium at the University of Massachusetts to see Vlad Ducasse, the 6'5" 330-pound offensive lineman from Haiti.
Ducasse was one of over thirty players who performed drills at the UMass Pro Day. These players included seniors, former UMass players who had not been drafted and some students from other colleges.
Non-UMass players did their shuttle drills first. UMass players stood on the sidelines with stopwatches, taking their own unofficial times of those running the shuttle.
Then, UMass football seniors, including Ducasse, took part in drills such as the suicide, vertical and long jump. During his teammates' drills, Ducasse watched on and cheered them on. Likewise, several of the players gathered around Ducasse during his vertical. The vertical, which took place in the endzone, appeared to be the most popular event, as players, scouts and media gathered in a tight circle around the athletes.
Quarterbacks and wide receivers then took part in drills for about fifteen minutes. Afterwards, offensive lineman, including Ducasse, performed drills with pads and teammmates.
During his workout, Ducasse wore a black t-shirt with a graphic which read "Protect This House. I Will"
The event started at 11 a.m. with a clear and sunny sky. Two hours later when Ducasse's workout ended, the sky was overcast and there was a slight wind.
