New Accountants for Wyclef’s Yele

Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti Foundation has hired new accountants after a budgeting scandal last week. The Smoking Gun uncovered documents revealing that the charity had paid Jean to perform at fund raising events and bought commercial time from a TV station he co-owns. The Haitian-born rapper acknowledged that “mistakes” had been made.

The new accounting firm, RSM McGladrey, says that the funds raised for Haiti relief will be used solely to help earthquake victims and all overhead costs will be covered by funds raised separately. Okay Wyclef, keep the appeasements coming.
