Dear fans and media,
Following much headliners and speculation regarding my status in System Band, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you all that I, James Douze, have officially resigned from my position as lead singer in the group, effective immediately.
This decision took a lot of self-reflection before it was reached. System Band provided me a big break in the HMI. It was a great honor to grace the stage alongside the legendary Isnard Douby with endowed musicians such as Reginald Benjamin and Lucien Ceran backing you up. An honor that is not taken for granted but is unable to continue.
Many changes have occurred in my life that I am very proud of. I have relocated to Florida and I will return to school in the near future. As System Band is based in New York, it proved to be quite a hassle traveling back and forth to New York and Florida in order to honor gigs with the band. It has taken a heavy toll on me both emotionally and financially. As the benefits did not outweigh the sacrifices, it was only logical for me to make the decision to resign from the band.
I am grateful to all of the fans, especially the loyal System band fans, for accepting me in the band. Your show of support and approval throughout this past year meant a lot to me and did not go without notice. Thank you also to the media for being the liaison that allowed such a bond to form.
Finally, thank you to System Band for the opportunities and guidance that you have provided me during the last year. I have enjoyed my tenure with the band. If I can be of any assistance during this transition, please let me know. I would be glad to help in whatever capacity I can.
