Stanley Jean-Baptiste projected as third round pick in 2014 NFL Draft

Stanley Jean-Bapiste: The best bet for a first- or second-day selection is cornerback Stanley Jean-Bapiste. SJB received praise from NFL scouts during the season and turned heads at Senior Bowl practices in Mobile, Ala. Most draft services have Baptiste on the fringe of the top 10 corners in this draft. In 2013, 14 cornerbacks were drafted in the first three rounds of the draft. This year’s group of corners is projected to be deeper than in 2013. Early projection: Third round.

Stanley Jean-Baptiste accepts invitation to Senior Bowl 2013

Nebraska cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, set for Jan. 25 in Mobile, Ala.

The Senior Bowl made several announcements Monday via Twitter (@SeniorBowl).

Also on Monday, NU confirmed that offensive tackle Jeremiah Sirles and receiver Quincy Enunwa will play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 18 in St. Petersburg, Fla. Husker offensive guard Spencer Long, out with a knee injury, was granted an invite but won’t play.

Jean-Baptiste finished the regular season with four interceptions and 11 pass breakups. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder from Miami was named a second-team All-Big Ten selection.
