Video: Haiti protesters crash Martelly presidential anniversary // RT Ruptly

Protesters descended upon Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday as the country's leadership marked the third anniversary of President Michel Martelly's election, calling for his departure. Demonstrators marched through various neighbourhoods, accusing the leader of corruption and claiming he is not eligible to lead the county.

Protesters attempted to reach the area near the National Palace where Martelly was commemorating the anniversary with a street party, but were turned away by police barricades and riot-control officers who used tear gas to disperse them.

Demonstrators responded by burning tyres in the streets and smashing car windows. Some injured individuals were seen on the ground, though the official confirmation of arrests and injuries was unavailable.
