Video: See tyres burn, truck overturned in anti-Haiti govt protests - RT Ruptly

Protesters demanding the resignation of Haitian President Michel Martelly clashed with police in Port-au-Prince on Friday. Protesters, who also called for the release of prisoners who they allege are being held for political reasons, were prevented from entering the National Palace by security cordons and armed police.

Protesters set tyres on fire in the streets and could be seen overturning a pickup truck. The protest comes after several people were shot in a demonstration in the northeastern town of Fort Liberte on Thursday.

Haiti has not held elections since 2011, despite promises by Martelly to do so. Presidential elections are slated to take place in October 2015.
