British soccer star David Beckham looks to invest in Haiti

(Caribbean News Now) ILE A VACHE, Haiti -- England's famous soccer player, David Beckham, wants to invest on Haiti's most beautiful island, which is expected to become the Caribbean country's top tourist destination in the coming years, a Haitian lawmaker from the island told HCNN on Saturday.

Lawmaker Jean Fenel Tanis said he was contacted by a Beckham agent who told him of the British star soccer player's interest in making acquisition of a piece of land on the southern island of Ile-a-Vache, not far from the site where British privateer captain Henry Morgan's ship sank in the mid 1670s.
